Introducing the Enhanced AlphaCare II: Comfort, Stability and Safety

Thanks to invaluable feedback from users and ongoing research and development, we’re thrilled to introducing the enhanced AlphaCare II. This latest version maintains the trusted comfort and stability of the original while incorporating new features for even greater support and durability.

What’s New?

  • Additional Size Options – In addition to the existing 440mm seat width and 510mm seat height, a new 380mm seat width is now available to offer a safer, more comfortable solution for smaller users. A new castor option also enables a lower seat height of 485mm, enhancing functionality.
  • New Durable Fabric Option – A heavy-duty fabric upgrade is now available for the most demanding applications. This REACH compliant, phthalate free material is anti-microbial, easy to clean, abrasion resistant, and offers 1 million Martindale rubs for longevity. New colour options include Azure, Carbon, Twilight, Smokey Grey, Fire Red and Olive.
  • Curved Armrests – The front of the armrests now feature a gentle curve, enhancing aesthetics while reducing areas prone to picking or rubbing, promoting durability and user comfort.
  • Padded Footplate – The new padded sliding footplate will provide comfort and support to the feet, especially during portering and manoeuvring around the environment.
  • Chest Harness Availability – Now available as an additional support option for individuals requiring enhanced trunk positioning in combination with pelvic stabilisation.
  • Optional Padded Tray – Designed for added comfort and functionality, supporting daily activities and engagement.

Why Choose the AlphaCare II?

AlphaCare II continues to be a highly effective seating solution for individuals with postural instability and significant movements, such as those with Huntington’s disease or dementia. It offers vital support for adults with:

  • Neurological and neuromuscular conditions
  • Cognitive impairments
  • Postural instability and limited control
  • Significant and severe movements
  • Semi-ambulant and non-ambulant needs

The chair’s linked seat and back recline function promotes postural stability by adjusting the seat angle as the back reclines, aiding pelvic positioning. A contoured backrest supports midline positioning, encouraging physiological function and engagement, while the ergonomic leg rest promotes lower limb support and energy conservation. The Reflexion® foam seating system provides essential pressure care for individuals with limited movement.
