General FAQ's

What level of pressure relief do your chairs provide?
Our WaterCell Technology provides a reliable and dynamic pressure-relieving solution for individuals at medium to high risk of pressure injury. It enables the user to achieve a stable and functional posture without compromising pressure management and comfort. https://www.careflex.co.uk/info-centre/clinical-evaluations/1998-medical-devices-agency/ We cannot give our seating a Waterlow score. The Waterlow scale measures an individual’s risk of developing a pressure sore. The score comprises various contributing factors, many of which would not be addressed by seating alone—for example, nutrition, age, and body mass index. There should always be a holistic approach to posture and pressure care. With its functions and accessories, the chair should be utilised to distribute body weight more evenly, helping to redistribute the pressure. The user’s care plan is key when it comes to reducing pressure risk, as this should cover the initial set-up and positioning, transfers into the chair, and appropriate continued use.
What level of pressure care relief do the back cushions on your chairs offer?
Quantifying how much pressure relief an individual chair component provides is not possible as there are too many variables. For example, the use of Tilt-in-Space or Back Angle Recline will affect how pressure redistribution is being achieved. The individual components need to be viewed as a complete system.

For example, the use of Tilt-in-Space or Back Angle Recline will affect how pressure redistribution is being achieved. The individual components need to be viewed as a complete system. If there is a clinical need, replacing our WaterCell technology seat cushion and using a third-party cushion is possible. If this is the preferred clinical option, and depending on the size of the third-party cushion, it may be necessary to use a docking cushion.

I no longer need the chair, can you take them back?
